Parking to take a photo at this particular home was not as easy as some of the others. The street is not very wide so you cannot pull off to the side very easily. Just be sure to watch out for the oncoming traffic and you’ll be fine. The Father Of The Bride House is one of my favorites because it looks like such a perfect family home. There are actually two homes that you can visit that were used in the movie. Can’t you just picture Franck and his team adding all of the finishing touches for the wedding reception?

The mansion’s interior can be viewed during private small group tours while the exterior grounds and garden are open to the public daily. Passages of glorious imagination are invariably matched by stock characters and banal story choices, as each new movie becomes another manifestation of the movie-industry divide between art and the bottom line. Disney Pixar featured the house in a promotion for its UP movie.

I wish I could visit the iconic Braverman house that Zeke and Camile owned on Parenthood but that was built on the Universal Backlots. However, there are locations where the many other characters lived that can be visited. This Pasadena home is where Adam & Kristina raise their three children on the show. As in their finest work, the Pixar filmmakers have created thrilling cinema simply by rifling through its history. In its opening stretch the new Pixar movie “Up” flies high, borne aloft by a sense of creative flight and a flawlessly realized love story.
Famous TV and Movie Houses in Los Angeles
But, I can’t pass up the opportunity to visit a famous filming location. The Mad Men house is actually walking distance from the Father Of The Bride house. This list will continue to be updated as I visit more filming locations. Be sure to check back to see what else gets added to this list.
A helium balloon experiences a buoyant upward force that is equal to the air it displaces minus its own weight, or 0.067 pounds per cubic foot of helium balloon. Carl’s epic adventure required a destination both fantastic and plausible. When Director Pete Docter happened on a television documentary about the mysterious tepuis of South America, he discovered the perfect world to explore.

After the development of Ballard Blocks 2, which is right across the street from the Edith Macefield house, the view of the hose from the Ballard Bridge is now gone as well. It’s hardly noticeable these days especially if you are just driving down the street. I love The Spadena House also known as The Witches House. Hollywood art director Harry Oliver designed the home. The house was built in 1921 to be offices and dressing rooms for Irvin Willat’s film studio in Culver City.

You can also visit the home used for the basketball scenes in Alhambra. From handmade pieces to vintage treasures ready to be loved again, Etsy is the global marketplace for unique and creative goods. It’s also home to a whole host of one-of-a-kind items made with love and extraordinary care. While many of the items on Etsy are handmade, you’ll also find craft supplies, digital items, and more. Air weighs about 0.078 pounds per cubic foot; helium weighs just 0.011 pounds per cubic foot.

The theater was constructed by Sid Grumman, who was also the force behind Grumman’s Egyptian Theater and Grumman’s Chinese Theater, both located in Hollywood. Today, this building is just an empty space used for filming but occasionally screens fund-raising movies for the L.A. You can see my photos of various movies and TV show houses from my visit to the Warner Bros Ranch. The house pictured is where the Heck family lived in The Middle.
I recommend stopping by for at least a quick visit if you can. Schindler's private residence is open to the public several days a week, and no reservations are required. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was filmed all over the LA area so I have been trying to visit as many filming locations from the movie as I can. Brad Pitt’s character lived in a trailer behind the Van Nuys drive-in theatre, which was actually filmed at the Paramount drive-in since the Van Nuys location no longer exists.
A visit to the interior is like stepping back in time over a hundred years seeing open cage elevators, marble flooring and stairs alongside the intricate iron rail details. Also, you may recognize the location from numerous feature films including Blade Runner and 500 Days of Summer. The Gilmore Girls House is located on the Warner Bros Lot and can be seen on the studio tour as long as they are not filming in that area.
She and Carl first bond over their shared admiration for legendary explorer Charles F. Muntz. They pledge to travel together to Paradise Falls—the world's tallest waterfall, deep in the South American rainforest. As the couple settle into their married life, their grandiose plans are set aside as they navigate the ups and downs of their everyday lives. Deep in the jungles of Paradise Falls resides a dog pack on a mission to capture a rare bird that their master is pursuing.
It has been called the Taj Mahal of Tile and I absolutely love that the house features locally made tile! The house was built in 1929 as a vacation home for the Adamson family but eventually became their fulltime residence. After the death of the owners, the state won a lawsuit to put beach parking where the house is. The parking lot got approved but thanks to the work of locals and volunteers the house still remains.
Found something you love but want to make it even more uniquely you? Many sellers on Etsy offer personalized, made-to-order items. We called Wolfe House Movers, which specializes in moving old structures and had Kendal Siegrist, a manager, take a look at the images from the movie to see how much the house might weigh. He's a retired balloon salesman who, at the age of 78, is forced to leave the house he and his late wife Ellie built together. But instead of moving into the old folks' home, Carl takes action. He ties thousands of balloons to the roof, lifts the house into the air, and sets off toward South America, finally fulfilling the promise he made to his wife so many years before.
The massive mile-high plateaus in Venezuela are among the most uncharted places on Earth. Pixar sent a team of artists for a look, and the film's bizarre rock formations, exotic flora, towering waterfall, and fog-shrouded labyrinth can be traced to tepui landscapes. So fantastic were the images, Docter wondered if the very real Tepuis might look too incredible.
This adorable home stands out on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica. The rumor is that this house was owned by Ruth Handler, the creator of Barbie. You can park in one of the beach parking lots and walk down to the home or park by one of the neighbors. PCH is a really busy road so it won’t always feel easy to stop for the photo. Investigators with Paul Hastings interviewed about 40 people, including current and former DWP employees and commission members, according to the report. Three people who worked for the DWP, including a former general manager, are now serving prison sentences.
In the 1940s his wife, Betty left their 31 room ranch and the land to the California State Parks. This is another home that is still on my to-visit list. Enjoy a collection of fascinating, historic pieces of Los Angeles architecture that were built as private residences.
