St Joseph’s Home for Chronically Ill Children is a registered non-profit organization which has been a pioneer in the field of paediatric intermediate health care in South Africa. We provide free transitional care for chronically ill children from disadvantaged families, from hospital to home through a holistic health and wellness programme. Medically stable children who need post-acute care are referred by public hospitals and we work closely with the referral team to optimise the recovery process while the patient is in our care. The 175-bed facility offers the infrastructure, expertise, compassion, support and care to holistically treat and rehabilitate children through a multidisciplinary approach of 24-hour nursing care and rehabilitation. Up to 500 children a year are looked after by St Joseph’s Home.
